Jackson is having a good time lately. He has been doing really well at baseball and starting to understand pitching. He and Wyatt were in Weippe this weekend and got to ride 4-wheelers most of the weekend and even go turkey hunting with me. We ended up getting one and the boys were both very excited about it and got to be right beside me. A very special event is coming up for Jackson and the family. He has been selected by the Air Force to be a pilot for a day. Which means that he will be able to go into and operate a flight simulator, tour a refueling plane, get to eat lunch with the high ranking officials and tour the debriefing room and more. They are also making a flight suit for him. We are doing our best to include Wyatt also. All of this came about because the Air Force does this each year and asks for a special person to be nominated. The pediatric oncology unit at Sacred Heart nominated Jackson. We will most certainly be taking many pictures to show all of you.

Jackson had more tests done last week and we think things are going good. His tumors look the same and that's good. His development in his thigh bone looks slightly smaller, and that's good. He does have an enlarged lymph node by his kidney, but they aren't alarmed at that right now they said. They said that with the rest of the tests looking good, they aren't worried about that. So we aren't completely comfortable with the results just yet. As for the other half of our life, Jackson is having a great time with baseball this year. He is hitting really well and pitching pretty good also. Turkey season has been a good one, we have all got our birds so far this year. Both of the boys were with me this weekend when we got another turkey. They both love hunting and fishing and can't wait for the next trip. We can't believe that Jackson will be hunting in a year. I can't wait for that day. Jackson's birthday is next Monday, and he'll be nine.

It has been a while since the last update. We are doing well and getting ready for the summer. Jackson will be retested next week in Spokane and again, this is a big one for us. We will find out how his cancer is doing. He is taking strong medication now and starting to have the expected side effects. Last week he mentioned that his night blindness is coming back and even during the day he has a problem focusing on moving objects. We will continue and hope that you will keep praying. As for the good stuff, Jackson had his first little league game and he loved it. He got hit in the back his first at bat and then got a couple of hits. He said that he could see the baseball pretty well and that was a fear of ours. He even got to pitch and did really well, even though he hit a guy and the little boy cried and yelled. I went out to the mound and talked to Jackson and he said that it kinda bothered him. I asked if he thought it bothered the other guy when he hit you. He said, "probably not." He continued to do well after that and finished his inning. We ended up winning 27 - 1 and the boys did real well. Wyatt is in the middle of soccer, and baseball won't be far behind. We are all getting ready for turkey season on Friday and I hope to shoot one with the boys beside me again.

Sorry it's been so long since the last update, Patti, you can quit yelling at me now. Jackson is in Spokane today getting more tests done. He has been doing great and just finished basketball and has his first baseball practice tonight. This year he is in live arm and I am coaching and looking forward to it. Jackson has had a tough time with nose bleeds and dry skin. The rhetnoic acid is some awful stuff that dries his body out something fierce, but it is a necessary evil in this case. This weekend we all helped with a benefit auction for Devon, a local girl that is battling cancer. Jackson was called Vanna many times as he was the one carrying the items around as they were being bid on. He did a great job and the auction was a success. We wish so much that children wouldn't have to face these harsh realities. We pray each night for Devon, Jackson, and many others to come through all of this. We can only hope that our prayers are answered.

We had a great weekend in McCall. We stayed at a friend's condo and the boys got to do a lot of swimming and we got to do a lot of relaxing. We went to see the elk again and the boys said they even liked it more this time. I think it's because the big bull kept getting so close that his horns were bumping Jackson when he ate off of the sled. When we got home we went to a field and played baseball for a while and the boys hit the ball really well. Jackson and I worked on pitching and he did great for his first time. The next day when I came home from work he was pitching in the backyard to his mom and I thought he was going to kill her, they were too close to each other and he was throwing very hard.
