We all had a good weekend and the boys got to act like normal kids and do normal things. Jackson and Staci are off today to start chemo in Spokane. He will be on it for most of the next two weeks, and as always will start getting sick again. We always pray that it will be better than the last time.

Last night was a tough one for us and especially Staci. She and Jackson were heading home from Kaci's basketball game and Jackson in a very serious and shaking voice told her, "that some kids at school told him that because of his cancer he was lucky to be alive, is that true?" Staci thought for a minute and gathered her thoughts and explained that the doctors are doing everything they can to stop the cancer and twenty or even ten years ago things would have been much worse. She promised that if things get worse and there are no more options that we will let him know.

With all our hearts we wish that we could bear this burden for him, but we knew that he was way too smart for that. The discussion ended well and he was again in good spirits in short order, but we now know that Jackson is on to so much of what is going on around him. We have and will keep on cherishing every moment that we have together. God willing, it will be many many healthy years.

Jackson had a pretty good week. He did get his brace off of his arm and the doctor said that it was healed and ready to go. He had more chemo in the past two weeks than he has been able to take lately. It is hard on his body, but desperately needed. Both of the boys got to shoot in a 3-D bow shoot with me on Saturday, but Jackson got fairly sick and had to stop after the first half. He went home  with his grandpa and by the time I got home he was good again. Wyatt loved and had a great time shooting at all of the different targets. He shot everything from traditional deer and elk, to some of the stranger targets like a T-Rex and a giant Cobra. Yesterday we all enjoyed the Superbowl with friends, although we didn't like the ending.

Jackson has no chemo this week so we are hoping for a great weekend for him. As for the Golden Retriever puppy that we will be getting, we put money down on a puppy in Meridian that will be ready March 25th. The boys are non-stop working on a name and Bo is leading right now, which would be short for Bodacious. Bodacious was a famous bull in the rodeo circuit.

Jackson has had a pretty good week. He got to go to school quite a bit and had a good weekend. His doctor's appointment went fairly well also. The tumors in his stomach have gotten smaller, but the tumor in his neck is about the same. The biggest problem right now is that his emotions are all over the map. He has cried so many times lately and has a hard time stopping. This week he is supposed to have chemo and tomorrow we will see how his arm has healed and if he needs the brace. He is really hoping that it is healed as he wants to shoot his bow next weekend in a 3-D bow shoot. He also wants to start practicing his baseball, Staci and I are sure hoping and praying that he will feel well enough to play this spring and summer.

We have agreed to getting a Golden Retriever puppy and that is all the boys can think about right now. They have gone through many names and are relentless in pressuring us to find one that is for sale. We are looking but haven't found one yet, we will keep you posted.

Jackson had a very good week and weekend considering all he has been through lately. He went to school four days in a row last week and hadn't been able to do that since November. He still has periods of being sick, but for the most part he did very well. This weekend he shot several clay birds with me and had a great time. He is getting to be a very good shot with his shotgun. He also played a few rounds of poker with us and he won several of the games again, he is very aggressive and has learned to play Texas Hold'em better than most adults.

He is heading to Spokane today with Staci for another round of chemo and some tests to see how things are going. We continue to pray for a miracle and someday put this all behind us, Lord willing we will be able to.

Jackson will hopefully get to stop wearing his splint this week on his broken arm. He wants to start shooting his bow and shoot in a 3-D target shoot with me on Super Bowl weekend. Wyatt is right behind him and already asking me to promise to take him also. I am starting to think that we have created two outdoor monsters.
