On Friday we went to Spokane to have a check up and bone marrow aspiration for Jackson. It was a so-so day with finding out that his platelets are again dangerously low and not coming back very well. We also found out that his bone marrow has a lot of scar tissue in it and is very tired. The radiation that Jackson got is over, but the affects will last up to six weeks and is still draining him. His doctor also said that we will be trying a new kind of chemo that is in a pill form. The convenience will be nice, but we are praying that it works. Today his counts are down again and he is getting blood and platelets in the hospital. Tonight he has a baseball game and tomorrow he goes up Hells Canyon with the fourth grade class on a jet boat trip.

Jackson has been very physically tired lately and can't do much before he is tired. He did play in his baseball game last week and the first time up he hit a ball to the outfield and got a single, I was very proud and happy for him. He looked like he had done it a thousand times, as he stood on first I told him that was a great hit and he looked at me and reached in his back pocket and said, "Do you want some gum?" He went on to have a great game and they won by several runs. I can only pray that many years from now he is still standing on first base with a big smile on his face.

Jackson has had a good week. He is still tired a lot of the time, but his pain is much better for now. He is sleeping around 13 - 16 hours a day, but we are trying school this week and see how he does. We know that he will be tired, but he is falling very far behind and he hates it when that happens.

Wyatt had his 7th birthday and had a great weekend. He went to the movies with several kids and then had a slumber party. They played lots of dodgeball and several other games. Jackson got to be with the group and had a good time also. One of Wyatt's funny little sayings came out last week. He asked "Am I going to have Sweet Friday off from school?" We weren't sure what he was talking about until we realized he was talking about "Good Friday", and then he explained that he thought it was called "Sweet Friday". He is always coming up with something, such as on Thursday we asked him where he wanted to go to lunch for his big day? He said that he wanted to go to Zany's so that they would sing to him.

The puppy is doing well also. He is growing and starting to learn the rules of the household. I am starting to think that we got the spirited one of the litter.

Jackson had a fairly good weekend, all things considered. Jackson and Wyatt were able to ride four-wheelers a lot and even go to the college baseball game. They have also spent a lot of time with the puppy, Bodie. None of us quite have control of that puppy yet, but we are working on it.

His last day of radiation is tomorrow and we are glad for that. His throat is hurting from the radiation on his neck, and it is getting much harder to eat or swallow. He slept from 12 - 15 hours per day all last week and wasn't able to go to school. He is currently on spring break and we are hoping that he will be able to go next week. He starts a different kind of chemo next Monday and we are hoping that it works and that his counts aren't hit as hard by it.

Jackson has had cancer for almost four complete years now and we just pray that he can some day soon be with us and be without pain. He has endured more than anyone should know in a lifetime. His heart is still kind, his mind is still strong, but his body is tired. We can only pray that all of this will make him stronger than ever some day.

We had a very mixed week with the first half a real struggle and the second half was just great. It started with Jackson having a struggle like he has never had before. Getting treatment was very hard for him and by the end of the week he was out of gas. Friday we had his blood counts taken and they were very low. His platelets were low, but his white and red blood cells were dangerously low. The doctor said that he was surprised he could even put one foot in front of the other. On Friday, he received two units of blood and Wyatt and I left for McCall and then Emmett for the puppy. Friday night Jackson had severe pains in his legs and he was crying and screaming and Staci took him to the ER. It wasn't half an hour later they just stopped hurting again and he was fine, we never really know when the pain will come or when the pain will go away. The rest of the weekend he felt good and by Sunday had a bundle of energy.

Wyatt and I picked up the golden retriever puppy and returned home Saturday evening. Both the boys are very excited and the puppy is warming up to everyone. His real name is Bodacious (from the bull), Jackson calls him Bodie and Wyatt calls him Bo. I hope the puppy can figure this all out. When we went to pay for the puppy, we found out that our Bible study group had already paid for it. It was a very nice thing to do and we sure appreciate it.
